Book: Winter is Coming by Tony Johnston. Illustrated by Nom LaMarche
Winter is Coming is an absolutely beautiful book. It is a little long for Kindergarteners, especially in September. I had to cut it short for one of the Kindergarten classes, but the other two K classes happily sat though it all.
I start off by asking students why they think I chose this book. We could have easily a more elaborate discussion, but there is so much to talk about in this book, that I want to move on.
